 And you thought Kim Kardashian's wedding was over-the-top.

British heiress and socialite Petra Ecclestone, the 22-year-old daughter of former Armani model Slavica and billionaire Formula One CEO Bernie Ecclestone, exchanged vows Saturday with businessman James Stunt in a three-day event just outside of Rome. 

The wedding took place at Castello Orsini-Odescalchi, the castle where Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes wed in 2006. The bride arrived to the nuptials in a white Rolls Royce and wore a gown by Vera Wang for the outdoor ceremony.

Melissa Gilbert and Bruce Boxleitner Divorcing

 Court records show Melissa Gilbert has filed for divorce after 16 years of marriage to fellow actor Bruce Boxleitner.

The former "Little House on the Prairie" star cited irreconcilable differences in her divorce petition, which was filed Monday in Los Angeles.

The filing states the couple separated in January, shortly after their 16th wedding anniversary.

Gilbert served two terms as president of the Screen Actor's Guild, and Boxleitner has appeared in numerous movies and television series, including "Babylon 5" and both "Tron" films.

Veronica's first ever role in a Hammer movie was in the 1968 classic Dracula Has Risen from the Grave. This movie has long held a special place in the hearts of most Hammer fans, and I am certainly one of them! I have watched this movie many times over the years, and I still get the shudders when Maria has her first shocking confrontation with the newly resurrected Dracula in that creepy pub basement! Also, right through the movie, my heart was in my mouth, hoping that the lovely Maria would not get made a vampire (and, boy, did she come close to it a few times!) by the evil Count. Thankfully, she didn't, and I never get tired of that wonderful finale, where Maria is saved in the nick of time from the vampire lord by her boyfriend, and Dracula is impaled on that giant crucifix. And what Hammer fan did not experience a great vicarious pleasure watching Paul embrace Maria as they watch Dracula perish? Classic stuff!

In addition to Dracula Has Risen From The Grave, Veronica also appeared in two other Hammer horror movies: Frankenstein Must Be Destroyed (1969) - a movie in which her character, Anna, is tragically murdered by Baron Frankenstein - and The Horror of Frankenstein (1970). She has also appeared in various TV episodes, like The Saint and Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased).

Susan Powell Search Extends to Remote Desert

 Nearly two years after Susan Powell's disappearance, an army of investigators launched a high-profile search of abandoned mine shafts in the Nevada desert about 200 miles southwest of her Utah home.

Acting on what has been called "important" and "credible" new information, a total of 45 detectives and other investigators are scouring a remote region west of the town of Ely, Nev.

Wearing hard hats with lights, the searchers were seen rappelling into the old mine shafts throughout the day Friday.

After months of keeping a tight lid on details about the case, police in West Valley City, Utah, have been unusually open about the latest development and even invited the media to accompany searchers.

"Detectives have made a preemptive drive out here to see what we may be looking at," says Sgt. Mike Powell (no relation). "We felt that it was important to as much as we were able to involve the media in the process."

He did not say what investigators were looking for and where exactly the search would focus.

Susan Powell vanished in December 2009, and her husband, Joshua Powell – who initially refused to cooperate with authorities – told investigators he last saw her at their house southwest of Salt Lake City on the night of Sunday, Dec. 6, when he took their then 2- and 4-year-old sons for an overnight camping trip.

American Idol's first-ever blind finalist, Scott MacIntyre, has married his girlfriend Christina Teich.

The couple wed in a small ceremony of 200 family members and close friends on Thursday in Scottsdale, Ariz., his rep confirms to PEOPLE. The singer penned a special dedication to his bride titled "Wanna Be There," which he performed at the ceremony.

MacIntyre, 26, and Teich met in a community theater production of The Music Man in 2003. And they became engaged in February of this year after the pop-rock singer proposed over afternoon tea.

"The tea sandwiches came out, then the scones, then the pastries ... and normally that's where it would've ended ... but then a fourth course arrived – a silver platter covered in rose petals with the ring box in the center. I got down on one knee, and the rest is history," he says.

Deemed an "inspiration" by Paula Abdul while competing on season eight of Idol, on which he finished eighth, the Redondo Beach, Calif., native went on to release the singles "Christmas Angel" and "Heartstrings," which debuted on PEOPLE.com and appeared on his album last winter.

"The worst, most dangerous person to America is clearly Paula Deen," Bourdain, 55, says. "She revels in unholy connections with evil corporations and she's proud of the fact that her food is f------ bad for you. Plus, her food sucks."

Deen, 64, responded on Fox and Friends by saying, "I was actually kind of shocked considering I've never met Anthony," and wondering why "such harsh words could be used."

Kardashian's focus on how she'll look in the wedding photos may be a sign that pre-wedding weight anxiety affects far too many women, regardless of body type.

In fact, it turns out to be a rather well-studied topic. Take a 2009 paper in the Journal of Health Psychology, which surveyed 879 Australian brides. It found that nearly 75% had resolved to exercise more and to follow a "healthy eating plan," and more than 35% said they would cut fat or carbs from their diets.

Mustaine was part of Metallica for two years in the band’s early days.

The Godfathers Of Film Take On 3-D

Scorsese, Coppola and Spielberg are coming out with 3-D movies—just as audiences are showing less interest in the pricey format.

When Francis Ford Coppola's first 3-D film, "Twixt," premieres next month at the Toronto Film Festival, audiences will be provided with 3-D glasses, but they aren't supposed to wear them for the whole movie. The legendary director of "The Godfather" movies, mindful that the funny spectacles can be uncomfortable for some viewers, decreed that an image should flash on the screen telling the audience when to put them on and take them off.
Three-D technology is at a critical juncture in Hollywood, its mixed track record leaving few clues as to whether it will be a transformative leap like talkies or color, a limited platform like Imax or little more than a doomed gimmick like Smell-O-Vision or Sensurround.

This fall, however, three godfathers of American cinema—Steven Spielberg, Martin Scorsese and Mr. Coppola—are releasing their first 3-D films. If their movies fall short, skepticism about the format could continue to spike. Or 3-D could clear an important hurdle—respectability.

"You now have some of the greatest filmmakers in the world stepping into the format to tell their stories," says Jeffrey Katzenberg, DreamWorks Animation chief executive and 3-D's most indefatigable evangelist..

Hypersonic Glider Loses Contact with US Military as Speed Test Takes Place [UPDATE: Statement Released]

In a bid to become the fastest plane in the world, the US Military has at least temporarily lost contact with prototype Falcon Hypsersonic Technology Vehicle (HTV-2) during its second test flight. This plane was designed as a global bombing prototype and was capable of a magnificent 20 times the speed of sound. This unmanned prototype plane was launched successfully today aboard a Minotaur IV rocket but was lost as the plane separated from the rocket in the upper bit of the atmosphere and began it’s “glide” phase. All of this is according to DARPA – Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency of the USA.

We wrote about this impressive tip of arrow looking glider yesterday and expressed excitement over its second launch. The first time this project was tested, the ship crashed into the ocean and could not be recovered. As this launch had the possibility of being the final test of the plane because of the budget crunch hitting the Pentagon, those hoping for the success of this piece of technology are likely digging their fingernails into their kneecaps at the moment.

If the project can be salvaged at this point, and if the project is able to move forward, the HTV-X, or whatever it’s called at the time, will aim at reaching anywhere in the world in less than an hour to deliver bombs to targets specified by the US Military. Furthermore, if the plane were to, theoretically, need to travel from Los Angeles to New York to hit a target, it could do so in less than 12 minutes.

AMES, Iowa — A withering critique of President Obama’s handling of the economy was overshadowed by a burst of incivility among the Republican presidential candidates who gathered here for a debate on Thursday night and fought to stay alive in the party’s increasingly fractious nominating race.

The simmering animosity that has been building among some contenders broke into full view during the two-hour debate, with Representative Michele Bachmann defending her legislative accomplishments, her economic ideas and her experience to serve as president. She batted away the criticism, smiling at times and swinging at others, trying to prove she could take the heat.

While the first votes of the Republican nominating contest are six months away, a sense of urgency already hangs over the campaign. Several candidates face a far earlier test and are struggling to avoid being embarrassed at the Iowa straw poll on Saturday — the same day Gov. Rick Perry of Texas intends to declare his candidacy and join the Republican race.

Tim Pawlenty, a former Minnesota governor who is seeking to rejuvenate his campaign, repeatedly assailed Mrs. Bachmann’s record. He stood directly at her side and accused her of “making false statements” and having “a record of misstatements.”

Michael Schultz, an associate vice president for development at the school in Burlington, Vermont, accepted a severance package and departed on Wednesday, a university spokesman said on Thursday.

The school's board of trustees conducted a review of the relationship between Schultz and Rachel Kahn-Fogel, the president's wife and a volunteer in the fundraising office.

Schultz, who earned a doctorate after writing a dissertation on the proper role of a university president's spouse, had received numerous highly personal communications from Kahn-Fogel, over several years, according to the review.

Sandra Bullock Is My Fairy Godmother, Says George Lopez

people.com. George Lopez may be in transition again – his TBS talk show was canceled this week – but he knows he can always count on one close friend in particular: Sandra Bullock.

"If it wasn't for her involvement in me, or her belief in me, I would have had a very different last 10 years," Lopez, 50, told PEOPLE Wednesday at Dodger Stadium, where he threw out the first pitch to promote MasterCard's support of Stand Up 2 Cancer.

Lopez didn't speak about TBS's decision – Lopez Tonight will end its almost two-year run on Thursday – but he made it clear that without Bullock, he may never have made it to late night TV at all.

"She invested in me, and she wouldn't take no for an answer. And with that, and just who she is, she has my undying love, and my undying loyalty," he said. "Every day I thank her for believing in me."

Of course, Lopez is not the only lucky one in the Oscar winner's life. She now has baby Louis to dote on. "I can only say that I did not have a mother, and I would have very much liked that one to be mine!" Lopez says with a laugh. "She's already my fairy godmother, but any child that gets to be in Sandra Bullock's arms is going to be a great person."
