Look around the place in your home where you spend the most time. What do you see? Do you see a television, computer, desk, bed, sofa, tables? More than likely you do see these things in your home. Now stop and slowly look around the area- do you see decorative pieces, wall hangings, focal points? If you don't then it's time to get busy creating an inspiring area for you to be creative in.

What inspires you? Do you feel most relaxed and calm when surrounded by nature? Do tranquil colors help you relax? Yes, relaxation is a big part of developing your creativity. This is because you have to let go of the stresses of the day, the work worries and financial issues to become inspired to create something. Once you've developed your creativity and become accustomed to utilizing it, you'll be able to create in order to relax, but in the beginning obtaining a relaxed state is the first step.

Think back to being a teenager and finally being able to decorate your bedroom the way you wanted. That freedom to express what was most important to you, what made you unique is part of what you want to tap into when putting together an inspirational area. Maybe when you were a teen your room was painted your favorite color, you displayed awards and trophies, you hung up snapshots of your friends and you had certain special things that may not have meant anything to someone else but were very important to you. Find that feeling of expression again and create your grown up room to reflect you.
