Geri Halliwell Wants to Spice Up Your Wardrobe

 Like me, many (embarrassed) former Spice Girls fans remember Geri Halliwell as the one who wore the tacky, tight Union Jack dress. But, like almost every celeb these days, a lack of style savvy hasn't stopped the singer from attempting to reinvent herself as a clothing designer. The woman once known as Ginger Spice debuted six new evening dresses as part of her new Geri by Next collection at Old Billingsgate Market in London on Wednesday.

"I've been sketching everything myself and I'm thrilled with the results," the 38-year-old said. "I've had the opportunity to make dresses that are not stupidly expensive but still elegant enough to wear to an upmarket event."

The blond Brit, whose dresses start at 89 pounds, has tried designing before -- her Geri by Next swimwear collection for the retailer is on sale now. Despite its affordable price range, don't expect many chic women to be wearing Geri once it becomes available in Britain in October. 

 The jewel-colored frocks appear to be made of a fabric that's not very flattering, and, even on models, look sort of ... plain. Maybe next time she should ask her former band mate Victoria Beckham to collaborate with her on a collection? admin
